In the Zoroastrian religion, a JASHAN ceremony, is a ceremony of thanks-giving. A fire is lit, and prayers are recited by the priest for thanks-giving.
On Shehrevar Mahino and Behram Roj (07 February 1999), ZAWA held its annual Jashan ceremony. The Jashan was held at the Australian Asian Community Hall in Perth city and was performed by Ervad Darius Pavri.
After the Jashan, Darius led the attendees in a "Hum Bandagi" (group prayer).
Local (Western Australian) sandalwood was used for the purpose of the Jashan. Tasety snacks were prepared by members of the Zoroastrian community as refreshments after the Jashan ceremony.
A good time was had by one and all.
